Your renewal notice is higher: what leaving costs

The new provider’s price is only half of it. The state charges to file the change: nothing in 10 states, up to $100 in Alabama. If you move to Mainstay Filing, that is $149 a year plus the state fee. State fees are passed through at cost and shown before you pay.

File the change before the old service ends, so the company is never without an agent on record. Fees were read from each state’s forms in October 2026; the figure is on every state page.
